CHARLES CALCAGNI, AIA

Charles (Chip) Calcagni’s thorough understanding of the interrelationships between people and spaces enables him to create highly workable design solutions. His project involvement is guided by a keen sensitivity to clients' needs, which consistently inform positive architectural decisions. Providing a high level of personal interaction with clients and end-users, he offers hands-on guidance at every phase of each project.

At present, Chip directs the team working with Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects on major additions at Jacobi Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He recently led the design teams for the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers, St. Barnabas Health Care System's Newark Beth Israel Cancer Center, and the Sidney Kimmel Center for Urologic Cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In addition to these major medical projects, Chip has designed innovative private residences for clients in California, Manhattan, and upstate New York.

Chip joined daSILVA in 1997 and has over 25 years’ experience as a practicing architect.
