Powdermaker Hall Renovation, Flushing,
NY
daSILVA Architects provided full architectural services for renovations to eight buildings on the Kissena Boulevard campus, as well as programming, design and construction of a 25,000 SF temporary building used for the relocation of occupants of Powdermaker Hall during its renovation. As the project evolved it was evident that additional services would be necessary. daSILVA Architects relocated both the Dean's office, the Anthropology Department's film/records storage area, adding skylights to the Razran building and making all relocated spaces code compliant within their specific buildings. The Department of Information Technology was renovated and connected to all buildings on campus via a new fiber optic loop. daSILVA Architects also consolidated the data center to provide space for new computer classrooms.
