Feasibility Study--New Emergency
Department and Entrance
Sunbury Community Hospital
Sunbury, PA
daSILVA Architects performed a study to assess the feasibility of a phased renovation of the emergency department and entrance. We recommended a three-story addition to the East Wing, relocation of emergency services and improved egress. Phase I of the addition would include the emergency department on the first floor, a new SNU on the 2nd floor and a new core space for ICU expansion on the 3rd floor. Approximately 10,880 SF would be added as new construction and 8,350 SF would be renovated. Phase 2 relocates the loading dock and expands its capacity; it also clarifies traffic entrance and egress from the hospital. Phase 3 creates a new entrance pavilion for the main hospital and gives the entire facility a new, upgraded appearance.
