Monmouth Medical Center is renowned for its expertise in cancer treatment. Working closely with the Center, daSILVA Architects consolidated the breast diagnostic and treatment programs to improve ease of service for patients and allow the Center to expand its core initiatives. This program involved redesigning space for diagnostics, radiation, and chemotherapy treatments, which were previously dispersed among four buildings.
In addition, a private entrance and reception were added to revitalize circulation and maintain visual unity with the medical center. The patient experience was vital to the design of the new waiting area, in which a coffee bar, water garden, and green space were added. The clinical area was transformed into a warm, open space to support patient recovery; amenities include a patient education library and a conference/teaching center.
