This six-story, free-standing structure was part of a multi-phase building master plan implementation for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The project’s fast-track schedule called for completion of the building in 18 months. To accomplish this, daSILVA designed a flexible interior framework by limiting the core to one wall of the building. As-of-right zoning regulations determined the volume of the building, and our design capitalized on the 62,000 SF of usable space. The building’s exterior design reflects the diagram of the plan elements projected in three dimensions.

Our design placed chemotherapy, check-in, and business functions on the ground floor; surgical practice below on the concourse level; two urological oncology practices are on the second and third floors, and faculty offices and conference areas are on the upper three floors.

Situated in a residential neighborhood adjacent to the main campus of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the building’s scale and material selections blend into the existing environment while the dynamic façade projects a forward looking image for the medical center.
