Pelham, NY
Year: 2007
In just nine months, daSILVA Architects designed and adjoined a spacious, elegant family room to this Tudor style house in Pelham, NY.
A fireplace with custom stonework centralizes the room as a space for relaxation and entertaining and, along with heated tiles, keeps the room warm during all times of the year. Half timbering on the ceiling complements and enhances imported art and architectural details, while echoing woodwork found in other rooms of the house.
Woodwork and stucco on the exterior blends with the structure’s original facade. The addition also serves as the base for a balcony that connects to the master bedroom. Large windows and french doors suffuse the room with natural light and provide a structural and visual connection between the house and the backyard.
