New York, NY

Projects: Previous | Next

Under a term contract with the NYC Health and Hospitals Corp., daSILVA has been asked to conduct a planning study for the analysis of the space needs for ambulatory care services at the medical center. Elmhurst Hospital has 545 general inpatient beds and 177 inpatient psychiatric beds. They currently accommodate over 600,000 ambulatory visits per year. Our study will include the following:

  • Projections for future need for ambulatory care services.
  • Study of services that can be accommodated within existing space.
  • Study of ways to reorganize and rationalize the allocation of space for the projected services.
  • Investigation of the potential for development of new space.
  • Exploration of efficiencies to be gained by redistribution of existing space.
  • Exploration of the potential of sharing services with other institutions.
  • Examination of options for development, including projected costs.
  • Review the existing blocking and stacking diagrams for the medical center and the plans of the existing ambulatory care spaces.

daSILVA will present the hospital with facility development options and a final master plan.
